    ACUTOUCH – BACKDROP Jin Shin
Acutouch: Jin Shin Acutouch,
if translated in English, will read, “Compassionate spirit penetrating
through touch”. Jin Shin Acutouch is believed to be practiced even a
thousand years before Christian era began. It is considered to be the
mainspring of all natural and holistic healing practices. Other Bodywork
Methodologies: It can be related
to the existing massage and Bodywork methodologies such as: (1)
Acupuncture (2) Acupressure (3) Alexander Technique (4) Dance and Music
Therapy (5) Kinesiology (6) Massage (7) Osteopathy (8) Polarity Therapy
(9) Reflexology (10) Reiki (11) Shiatsu, and, (12) Yoga. Bio-energy or
Life force: We all know that
there is a perennial flow of Bio-energy in the body, which is called
“Ki” in Japan, “Chi” in China and “Prana” – a Sanskrit
word – in India. This energy of life force as it is known in the West,
flows internally and externally, though it always maintains an
inter-link between all the organs of the body. On the epidermis, the
flow of bio-energy or life force, or Chi, takes place through the
peripheral capillary network and can be felt on the epidermis in the
form of “points”. The Background: Though Jin Shin
Acutouch is over 3000 years old, it did not reach other shores. In the
20th Century, Master Jiro Murai, a Japanese, is credited with
re-propagating Jin Shin principles and practices. The main thrust of Jin
Shin Acutouch is to revitalize the inherent energy systems by the
removal of stagnation and blockages that occurred to the free flowing
energy. There is another
school of thought according to which Jin Shin originated in that ancient
culture – India -, Tibet and China, and the Buddhist monks carried it
to Japan. Ms. Mary Burmeister, a disciple of Jiro Murai, is credited to
have brought Jin Shin Acutouch to the United States of America in the
decade 1950’s. The Americans lapped it up and today the system is well
known and has good patronage. |
